Rick y los amigos tenían ya varios meses viajando por Latinoamérica de mochileros. En uno de los hostales, en medio de una locación remota, decidieron pagar por un tour que los llevaría a acampar en el desierto.
La idea resultó ser fantástica. En la noche las estrellas se veían más abundantes y brillantes que nunca. El cielo era todo un espectáculo. Nada podía salir mal, el guía, que había partido hace varias horas, les había dado todas las instrucciones pertinentes para no perderse.
Mientras Clement observaba constelaciones con su telescopio, Rick, Blake y Paige intentaban armar una fogata con unos cuantos troncos de madera que Rick había recogido en el pueblo. “Miren lo que he traído para el paseo, muchachos…”.

La noche se torno mas oscura al paso del tiempo , Rick con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja mostró una bella Orquídea , la cual admiraba con pasión , ya que la sostenía con tal delicadeza que era imposible que algún pétalo de la flor se viese manchada por las manos entierra-das por el arduo camino que los mochileros realizaron por toda Latinoamericano .
En casi un abrir y cerrar de ojos Blake y Paige se acercaron a ver mas de cerca la flor ya que resultaba muy difícil de ver por la poca luz y la falta de confianza de Rick para acercar la flor a la fogata (…)
